U.S.VETS—the nation’s largest nonprofit dedicated to ending veteran homelessness—is hiring an Outreach Specialist to engage with veterans experiencing homelessness and connect them to housing and comprehensive support services that foster independence and stability. What You'll Do Publicize U.S.VETS services by visiting shelters, treatment programs, transitional housing, and other community locations where veterans may congregate. Maintain a database of client information and referrals to track outreach efforts and screening appointments. Schedule screenings and transportation for veterans entering programs and assist with transportation for events. Collaborate with external service providers to ensure timely collection of client paperwork. Produce weekly reports on outreach activities and veteran engagement. Communicate upcoming projects and special events to the outreach team and community partners. Attend weekly outreach meetings and contribute to team planning. Perform other duties as assigned to support outreach and engagement goals. Program-Specific Duties May Include Completing VA dashboard assessments and intake forms for specialized programs (e.g., SSG FOX). Building rapport with clients and maintaining strong relationships with community partners. You Are Mission-Driven – You care deeply about serving veterans and ending homelessness. Collaborative – You thrive in a team environment and value partnership. Required Qualifications At least one year of experience in social services (or three months of employment at U.S.VETS). Strong oral and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer literacy. Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company insurance requirements. Not required but a definite PLUS Bachelor’s degree in social services or related field. Experience working with people experiencing homelessness and/or veterans. Why Join U.S.VETS?
