About the Role:

The Project Engineer position is a key member of the project team and is responsible for developing project designs, specifications, cost estimates and provide construction-level technical support for utility scale solar and energy storage projects. The Project Engineer is involved in a project from early stage development, through construction, and final handoff to the Asset Management team.


Scope of Responsibilities (includes but not limited to):

  • Engineering/design of large scale photovoltaic and energy storage systems with a heavy focus on value-add engineering and system performance optimization.
  • Create permit and construction level detailed, design packages.
  • Define project specific technical requirements, specifications, and scopes of work.
  • Liaise with outside consultants, engineers, electric utilities, and other involved stakeholders.
  • Assist with project planning, schedules, and operating strategies.
  • Develop project cost estimates and assist with project buyout.
  • Review and evaluate new and emerging technologies and equipment.
  • Create bid solicitation packages for key equipment and contract labor.
  • Review and manage contractor RFIs and submittals.
  • Execute site QA/QC activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Agilitas.


Required Skills:

  • Proficient with AutoCAD.
  • Experience with PVSyst or similar energy modeling software.
  • Base level understanding of the solar/energy storage design and construction process.
  • Excellent time and workload management skills.
  • Strong technical aptitude with ability to deliver creative solutions.
  • Self-driven, highly motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage numerous projects simultaneously.
  • High degree of attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Ability to read and comprehend electrical, mechanical, civil and/or architectural drawings.
  • Strong work ethic with a passion to advance renewable energy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Microsoft Project and Excel).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Civil or Electrical preferred.
  • 3-5 years proven track record in solar PV/energy storage engineering, development and/or construction.
  • Experience with design/build commercial or industrial construction projects and contracts.
  • OSHA 10 hour Construction Card a plus.
  • Knowledge of Building and Electrical codes.
