Paralegal II, General Liability (Boston, MA) Zurich North America’s Boston Staff Legal Office is hiring a Paralegal II, General Liability to support moderate‑to‑complex liability litigation cases under the supervision of an attorney. The role involves case work, research, discovery responses, subpoenas, and related tasks. Work arrangement: Hybrid. The selected candidate will work from the Boston, MA office on a regular basis and may be required to attend the office occasionally. Responsibilities Provide legal support to three attorneys. Draft legal pleadings, correspondence, and other documents as instructed. Conduct legal and documentary research. Monitor case schedules and filing deadlines. Interview witnesses, summarize depositions, and review medical records. Prepare discovery requests and responses. Assist in trial preparation. Respond to inquiries from clients, counsel, and witnesses. Track billable hours. Organize and maintain case files and documentation electronically. Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks and participating in projects as needed. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent with 4+ years of experience in Legal Support; OR Associate Degree with 2+ years of experience in Legal Support; Experience conducting electronic database research. Experience drafting legal documents, correspondence, and/or pleadings. Experience with Microsoft Office. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree. Paralegal experience in Rhode Island and Massachusetts jurisdictions. E‑Filling experience. Insurance defense experience. Proficiency in electronic database research, including Lexus Nexis. Microsoft 365 Office and strong Windows 10 computer skills. Comfortable working in a paperless environment. Strong communication and writing skills. Ability to work independently. Experience with direct client contact and assisting with exhibits in trial. Comfortable working in a remote and office environment. CORE Registered Paralegal (CRP) or PACE Registered Paralegal (PRP). Certified Paralegal (CP) or Professional Paralegal (PP). Certified Legal Assistant (CLA). Compensation & Benefits Pay range: $32.50/hr – $43.00/hr. Short‑term incentive bonus eligibility: 5%.
