Christ the King, South Bend - Lunch Director (South Bend, IN) Job Posting: Lunchroom Director/CoordinatorChrist the King Catholic School – South Bend, IN Christ the King Catholic School is seeking a dedicated and organized Lunchroom Director/Coordinator to oversee our school lunch program serving Pre‑K through 8th grade students. This is a vital role that ensures our students receive nutritious and well‑balanced meals in a safe and welcoming environment. Key Responsibilities Menu Planning & Food Service: Plan and prepare monthly lunch menus that meet state nutrition guidelines, ensuring variety and appeal for students. Oversee food preparation and serving, ensuring quality and safety standards are met. Ordering & Inventory Management: Order all food products and supplies necessary for meal preparation. Manage inventory to minimize waste while maintaining adequate stock levels. Compliance & Reporting: Complete and submit required state reports for the school lunch program, ensuring compliance with all regulations and guidelines. Budget Management: Oversee the lunch program budget, ensuring cost‑effective operations while maintaining high‑quality meals. Track expenses, monitor revenue, and maintain accurate financial records. Staff Supervision: Lead and support lunchroom staff and volunteers, promoting teamwork and efficiency. Coordinate staff schedules and ensure proper training in food safety and handling. Student & Parent Communication: Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and staff. Address dietary needs, special requests, and any concerns related to the lunch program. Qualifications Experience in food service management, school nutrition programs, or a related field preferred. Knowledge of state and federal school lunch program regulations. Strong organizational and time‑management skills. Budget management experience and proficiency in basic financial reporting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a school environment and support the mission of Christ the King Catholic School.
