Job Title RN – Orthopedics (MGH) Company Mass General Brigham is a not‑for‑profit health system dedicated to patient care, research, teaching, and community service. Unit Overview White 6 is a 30‑bed orthopedic unit specializing in total joint replacement, trauma, and orthopedic oncology. The unit also cares for oral‑maxillofacial patients undergoing reconstructive procedures such as TMJ surgery. The unit operates on a straight night or rotating shift schedule. Job Summary The RN will interpret the plan of medical care, assess patient needs, provide individualized nursing care, and evaluate patient outcomes. The role requires close collaboration with the multidisciplinary team and active participation in unit decision‑making. Responsibilities Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records. Administer medications and monitor patients for reactions or side effects. Record medical information and vital signs. Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patient conditions. Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans. Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patient responses and conditions. Qualifications Education Associate's Degree Nursing required or Bachelor's Degree Nursing preferred. Licenses & Credentials Registered Nurse, Massachusetts. Experience Clinical nursing experience 0–1 year required; 1 year of RN experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Familiarity with practical nursing principles for patient care. Knowledge of care required for respective age groups. Ability to maintain confidentiality and secure sensitive information. Knowledge of medical terminology. Excellent verbal and communication skills. Ability to accurately screen and triage acute patients.
