System Engineer / Design Assurance at P17 Solutions, LLC Join our team as a System Engineer supporting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Tech Ops Organization. This on‑site, full‑time role is located at the William J. Hughes Technical Center for Advanced Aerospace in Egg Harbor Township, NJ. The position requires mid‑senior level expertise in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, and system integration to design, deploy, and manage secure, automated infrastructure supporting FAA software development and testing environments across multiple cloud platforms. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain DevOps infrastructure and pipelines for software development, testing, and deployment in hybrid cloud environments. Architect and manage containerized platforms using Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift to optimize scalability, performance, and security. Develop and automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform, Ansible, and other Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC) tools. Administer cloud platforms (AWS, Red Hat OpenShift) including EC2, S3, IAM, and VDI environments supporting 100+ users. Implement CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and other tools to streamline software delivery and reduce deployment times. Integrate and maintain SSO and access management systems (Keycloak, Zscaler Private Access) for secure, unified authentication. Serve as a technical liaison between engineering teams, federal stakeholders, and leadership, translating technical requirements into actionable solutions. Support legacy‑to‑cloud migration efforts, ensuring compliance with FAA and federal cybersecurity standards. Monitor and optimize system performance, reliability, and cost‑efficiency through automation and continuous improvement initiatives. Contribute to Agile/Scrum development cycles, supporting backlog grooming, sprint planning, and cross‑functional collaboration. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience and 8+ years of experience; OR Master’s degree with 5+ years of experience. 8+ years of hands‑on experience in systems engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure management. Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Containerization, Cloud Platforms, CI/CD Tools, and Programming Languages. Proficiency with engineering design tools and configuration management tools. Strong understanding of Agile, SDLC, and CI/CD methodologies. Excellent communication skills, with experience interfacing with federal clients or enterprise stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity and prior work with FAA programs. Experience with configuration management tools, geospatial layouts, or data adaptation platforms. Knowledge of design assurance principles in safety‑critical or regulated industries (aviation, aerospace preferred). Security Clearance and Citizenship Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance. All candidates must be US citizens; P17 Solutions is unable to sponsor candidates. Compensation and Benefits Base pay ranges from $80,000 to $100,000 annually, varying by experience and qualifications.
