POSITION SUMMARY

The IT Tech Apprentice is an entry level position that requires only limited or no previous IT tech work experience but does require a team player attitude, a strong desire to learn about technology and the ability to learn quickly. This role will involve learning about and supporting our diverse operations environment while at the same time being exposed to a wide range of state-of-the-art technologies. This role will primarily be focused on assisting the IT Team in a variety of diverse projects while at the same time learning about and supporting our operations. The majority of the work will be hands on, out in the field, and will be done at all different locations around the resort campus and up on the mountain. We are looking for someone that wants to grow into a resort IT operations specialist over time.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Working closely with our IT Techs in the field assisting with various installations, repairs, troubleshooting, configuring equipment, etc.
  • Developing knowledge about our IT operations and providing support for our customers through direct interaction, answering calls, and responding to tickets
  • Developing knowledge and providing technical support for peripherals, computers, RFID gates, Wi-Fi systems, network switches, and software support.
  • Imaging and installing endpoint systems
  • Working with and providing operations support for conference room AV tech, resort audio systems, webcams, security & operational cameras, network PA system, digital signage and accompanying media devices, projectors, video wall, TV's, TV streaming devices and cable boxes.
  • Assisting in daily operations checks to ensure all systems are functioning properly.
  • Assisting in inventory management and systems documentation.
  • This position may be required to participate in a rotating on-call schedule.


QUALIFICATIONS:

A proven background that demonstrates reliability, responsibility, honesty, a desire to learn about and passion for technology, and the ability to learn quickly.
  • Desired Skills/Experience
    • Experience in customer service preferably related to technology.
    • A foundational understanding or experience with technology.
    • Understanding of the principles of computer hardware and peripherals.
    • Experience using Microsoft office and collaboration applications.
    • Ability to think through and solve technical puzzles.
    • An awareness of cyber security challenges and best practices.
    • Ability to build cat5 cables and terminate ends.
    • Ability to ski or snowboard.
  • Required Attributes

    • Ability to actively listen and follow instruction accurately.
    • A strong desire and passion to expand your technical knowledge and skillsets.

Office Environment and Outdoor Environment:
  • We are a dog friendly company/office. Candidates should be comfortable with dogs.
  • Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position a minimum of 20 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Manual dexterity to operate a computer and other common office equipment on a constant basis.
  • Auditory and visual acuity to operate computers, phones, mobile devices and basic office equipment on a constant basis.
  • A valid Driver's License is required. May also be required to obtain a license or specific training for off-road vehicles or snow machines.
  • Most work is performed at Sugarbush Mountain. Due to the Regional setup of OneIT for the Eastern Region, you may have occasional travel to other eastern AMC Resorts.
  • Ability to work for extended periods of time sitting, bending, reaching, and speaking on a constant basis.
  • Ability to climb ladders and use power tools.
  • Ability to work for extended periods of time standing, walking, kneeling, pushing and pulling on an occasional basis.
  • We are located on a campus mountain environment so additional strenuous physical activity may include walking or hiking upon uneven, challenging terrain with tools and equipment.
