About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at First Student. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will play a critical role in maintaining and repairing our fleet of school buses to ensure vehicle readiness and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual DOT maintenance inspections on school buses
  • Diagnose and repair vehicle and equipment issues, including brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions
  • Assist with vehicle maintenance and repairs to ensure fleet readiness and safety
  • Obtain CDL while employed, with training provided by the company
Requirements
  • At least 1 year of experience in automotive or diesel maintenance and repair, or technical school education
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
  • Willingness to obtain CDL and participate in training programs
