REPORTS TO: Principal, System Nutrition Director and/or System Assistant Director

QUALIFICATIONS: Requires at least three years of experience in a food service setting. Ability to supervise others. Computer experience required. Demonstrates ability to read and understand English as well as work simple math problems. Minimum education level is a GED. An official high school diploma or official GED certificate is required and must be submitted for documentation to be hired. Physical Demands - Must be able to sit, walk, and stand the majority of the workday; lift and carry 20-30 pounds frequently; push and pull the same amounts; bending and stooping.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Establish patterns for healthy eating by supervising the preparation of nutritious, acceptable school meals.
  1. Fulfill nutritional needs of students and regulation for fund reimbursement by guiding the proportioning of food in the serving line.
  1. Direct the serving of attractive, palatable and safe foods.
  1. Evaluate performance of all nutrition staff daily, pointing out specific areas where employees need to make improvement, with written submission of evaluation forms completed semi-annually.
  1. Maintain scores above 90% from health inspections.
  1. Manage continuity of correct procedures by supervising of new assistants and temporary substitutes.
  1. Implement federal and state nutrition program requirements as well as sanitation and safety guidelines.
  1. Plan and implement work schedules or duty rotations for posting, changing daily as appropriate and communicating these along with detailed instructions to all staff.
  1. Create a reputation of respect for the nutrition program.
  1. Fulfill contract agreement with the federal government by implementing the approved collection procedure.
  1. Maintain a positive net worth and minimum 14 meals per labor hour staffing formula for the individual nutrition program.
  1. Complete menu management records for breakfast, lunch, and snacks daily and submit monthly to be held for audit.
  1. Score in compliance with all federal and state reviews and audits.
  1. Provide a nutritional education program with point of sale information for students.
  1. Participate in the professional organization (School Food Service Association) meetings and activities.
  1. Prepare and implement the required Personal Enhancement Plan.
  1. Perform other duties as assigned.
