Introduction ERM is seeking a Environmental Compliance Consultant to specialize in Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA) Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) and Tier II reporting and help lead our nationwide EPCRA reporting and consulting team. In this role, you will provide senior project management and senior technical leadership and QA/QC review on nationwide EPCRA TRI/Tier II calculation/reporting portfolios and year-round EPCRA auditing programs, as well as other EHS compliance projects and compliance assurance programs for clients locally, nationally, and internationally. Job Responsibilities As a Environmental Compliance Consultant, you will: Work in a collaborative team environment to support the on-going growth and development of ERM’s EPCRA Reporting Program and Portfolio. Provide regulatory interpretation and guidance on complex TRI applicability, calculation and reporting issues to the ERM EPCRA team and clients. Perform complex facility operational and EHS data analysis and systematic organization/clean-up of large data sets and data manipulation in support of TRI threshold and release calculation preparation. Manage multiple large-scale projects and/or reporting programs within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables. Provide final QA/QC review of a portfolio of detailed EPCRA TRI threshold and release calculations for multiple industry sectors, including complex chemical plants and oil & gas refineries. Provide final QA/QC review of an extensive portfolio of EPCRA Tier II calculations and reporting across all 50 states for multiple industry sectors. Ensure on-time quality delivery of EPCRA Tier II and TRI calculations and reports. Lead teams in performing multi-year audits of EPCRA Tier II/TRI reporting programs with resolution of compliance findings via eDisclosure and the EPA’s Audit Policy, or the EPA’s Audit Policy for New Owners for due diligence audits. Perform and manage litigation support projects under attorney-client privilege and EPA’s Audit Policy/Audit Policy for New Owners. Provide environmental compliance support to clients, including on-site assistance as needed. Develop and expand client relationships that generate repeat business to grow ERM’s EHS Sustainable Operations practice and EPCRA Reporting team. Prepare technical proposals and participate in business development with existing clients and identified leads. Appropriately delegate project assignments to project teams and mentor junior staff. Build strong collaborative relationships with other ERM employees. Qualifications To excel in this Environmental Compliance Consultant Job, you should possess: Bachelors or Masters Degree in environmental or chemical engineering, chemistry, environmental science, or related discipline. Experienced in reading and understanding chemical nomenclature, chemical reactions and performing stoichiometric conversions, reading SDSs and identifying key chemicals mandatory. Extensive experience preparing and QA/QC reviewing EPCRA Tier II/TRI threshold and release calculations for reporting required; experience auditing Tier II/TRI calculations/programs and use of EPA’s Audit Policy for compliance issue resolution required. Attention to detail and patience are mandatory for these tasks. Expertise with EPCRA Tier II/TRI environmental regulations, guidance documents, Q&A and interpretation of information in these data sets in relation to client situations, along with a commitment to continue growth in regulatory understanding. Experience in air release calculations (emissions factors, emissions controls, etc.) would be preferred. Minimum of 8 years EHS consulting experience in manufacturing, oil & gas, power, mining, chemical sectors with exposure to a variety of manufacturing/production environments. Strong MS Office computer skills; advanced understanding of Excel mandatory; PowerPoint, PowerBI, and Access desired. Advanced skill set in the use of MS Excel – experienced in the systematic organization/cleanup of large data sets and preparation of complex calculations using Excel. Experience with SAP preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and analytical skills; experience working with detailed technical data; experience writing and QA/QC reviewing comprehensive technical reports and calculations. Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility and work independently with minimal supervision. This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.
