Accounting Manager

Vilmorin-Mikado USA is looking for its new Accounting Manager. In this role, you will direct the accounting, tax and payroll affairs of the subsidiary and be responsible for company policies, accounting practices and compliance under US GAAP and IFRS, and the maintenance of fiscal records. Key Responsibilities Protect the company assets. Provide advisory to the operational team regarding accounting matters. Handle government reporting, tax & compliance. Supervise general accounting and payroll. Support implementation of operational best practices. Manage personnel in the accounting department: accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory costing, fixed assets, sales/use & property taxes, general accounting, royalties, intercompany transactions/reconciliation and payroll. Recommend training and manage staffing for the department. Manage external relationships with auditors, payroll service, banks, tax and other consultants. Coordinate with HR and Legal on related issues. Act as key contact for corporate financial moves or projects. Serve as the finance main contact for JD Edwards (JDE) system maintenance, development, and implementation. Partner and support the FP&A Analyst and HRBP. Implement, document, and maintain processes to improve close and reporting cycles. Oversee preparation of monthly close work papers and account balances. Assist the unit finance director on economic objectives, policies, impairment testing, transfer pricing, due diligence, and global policy development. Oversee journal entry recording and record keeping. Oversee preparation of annual audit and tax return work papers; coordinate with external auditors and CPA firms. Education and Experience BA/BS Degree in Accounting, Finance or related major. CPA certification or advanced degree preferred. 5+ years of experience in financial management. Ten-key by touch. Ability to use standard office equipment. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Advanced knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS. Knowledge of JD Edwards a plus.
