Position Summary

Extracts operations data for analysis, leadership support and responses to ad hoc data requests. Maintains operations tools & databases to ensure that it is kept up-to-date. Develops, maintains and enhances operational metric database tools for the broader analytics teams. Identifies and solves current gaps in data requirements and ease of access to ensure fast and consistent responses to leadership inquiries.

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and Oakland based on business needs. You will be expected to be in the office one day per week.

 

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​

A reasonable salary range is:​

Bay Area Minimum: $136,000

Bay Area Midpoint: $184,000​

Bay Area Maximum: $232,000​

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Acts as a thought leader applying extensive data processing and data analysis expertise in the development of strategy or resolution to complex data issues. Creates very complex automated data routines and processes for reporting and data delivery ensuring accurate data manipulation and data cleansing.
  • Analyzes data using various advanced statistical tools to develop complex ad hoc reports, statistics, trends and profiles.
  • Develops comprehensive reports and analysis for long-term, company-wide issues. Presents/communicates clear, concise and actionable data analyses for senior leaders and stakeholders.
  • Manages extracting data and transferring the data from databases to various analysts to support operational analysis efforts.
  • Manages major and complex cross functional data projects that have broad company implications.
  • Manages very complex data analysis projects with very limited supervision from initial request to presenting data results ensuring that the project is completed within budget and on-time.
  • May work with Senior Management to develop business related strategy, leveraging data in decision making.
  • Provides technical guidance and mentoring to other data analysts and ensures adherence to best practices and standards for data quality, security and governance.
  • Performs quality control on new and existing dashboards, ensuring that the data sources, calculations and visualizations are accurate, reliable and user-friendly. Identifies and resolves any data discrepancies or errors. Provides feedback and recommendations for dashboard improvement and enhancement.
  • Partnering with Construction Management to provide data and analytical support, driving the execution of program goals. Maturing data quality in our systems and ensuring all Distribution programs are fully aligned to our systems of record, driving data-based decisions and risk management rigor in all Distribution program work.

 

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelors Degree in data analytics, mathematics, computer science or similar degree or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Job-related experience, 8 years

Desired:

  • Masters Degree or equivalent experience
