**Job Title:** Mammography Technologist - Clinical Allied

**Job Duration:** 13 Weeks

**Shift:** 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, 5x8 hours, every other weekend, no holidays, no on-call

**Guaranteed Hours:** 40 hours per week

**Experience:** Minimum of 2 years as a Licensed Mammography Technologist

**License:** Active Diagnostic Radiography License

**Certifications:**
- Must have ARRT
- Must obtain mammography certification within the first three months of employment

**Must-Have:** Graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology

**Job Description:**

- Perform mammography examinations following ACR requirements.
- Assist with breast ultrasound, stereotactic biopsy, breast localization, and other radiologic guided procedures.
- Conduct diagnostic and screening mammographic examinations on adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients efficiently and professionally.
- Handle mammographic imaging for breast needle localization procedures and stereotactic procedures, including setup and cleanup.
- Assist in procedures using ultrasound guidance.
- Provide immobilization devices and select the proper technical factors based on individual patient needs.
- Select and operate equipment for specific procedures.
- Identify patient's films with the correct name, x-ray number, and accurately mark films as to the side of the patient and initial all films.
- Develop exposed x-ray film using processing methods.
- Complete patient requisitions with technologist's initials, date number, and film size.
- Assist with quality control procedures and documentation of various tests and analyses as delegated by the Chief Mammography Technologist.
- Assist in BSE instruction and other patient education, including pre and post-procedure instructions.
- Prepare cases to be imaged, including chart and films.
- Compile statistics for patient follow-ups, track breast localizations, patients needing biopsies, and ultrasound examinations, and follow-up on positive biopsy reports.
- Document procedures regarding quality control and quality assurance for mammography in compliance with ACR, MQSA, NJ State, and FDA.
- Document pertinent information regarding patients in the Breast Center chart.
- Identify the needs of the patient population served and modify and deliver care specific to those needs.
- Communicate effectively with patients, parents, and primary caregivers at their level of understanding.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
- Adhere to organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
