**Job Title:** Mammography Technologist CWR

**Shift:** 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM. 5x8 hours. 13 weeks. Every other weekend. No holidays. No on-call.

**Guaranteed Hours:** 40 hours per week

**Experience:** Minimum 2 years of prior experience as a Licensed Mammography Technologist

**License:** Active Diagnostic Radiography License

**Certifications:** Must have ARRT; Must obtain mammography certification within the first three months of employment

**Must-Have:** Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology

**Job Description:**

- Perform mammography examinations following ACR requirements.
- Assist with breast ultrasound, stereotactic biopsy, breast localization, and other radiologic guided procedures.
- Conduct diagnostic and screening mammographic examinations on adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients professionally and efficiently.
- Execute mammographic imaging for breast needle localization procedures and stereotactic procedures, including setup and cleanup.
- Provide assistance in procedures using ultrasound guidance.
- Administer immobilization devices and select appropriate technical factors based on individual patient needs.
- Identify and label patient's films accurately, ensuring correct name, x-ray number, side of the patient, and apply initials to all films.
- Develop exposed x-ray film using processing methods.
- Complete patient requisitions with technologist’s initials, date, number, and size of films.
- Participate in quality control procedures and documentation such as phantom image tests, darkroom fog tests, screen-film contact tests, and others as delegated by Chief Mammography Technologist.
- Assist in BSE instruction and patient education, including pre and post procedure instructions.
- Prepare cases for imaging, including chart and films.
- Compile statistics for patient follow-ups, tracking breast localizations, patients needing biopsies, ultrasound examinations, and follow-up on positive biopsy reports.
- Document procedures regarding quality control and quality assurance for mammography in compliance with ACR, MQSA, and FDA standards.
- Record pertinent patient information in the Breast Center chart.
- Modify and deliver care specific to the needs of the patient population served (age, culture, language, hearing/visually impaired, etc.).
- Communicate with patients, parents, and/or primary caregivers appropriately based on developmental/age, educational, literacy, etc.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
- Adhere to organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
