Description

The Surgical Tech Cert First Assist works under the direction of the surgeon to do the following: assist with surgical tasks as requested, assists with set up, preparation and use of instruments, equipment and supplies. The Surgical Tech Cert First Assist sets up and maintains a sterile field and consistently applies principles of infection control, safety and aseptic technique. Compliance with hospital and department policies and procedures standards and mission statements is mandatory.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education to meet certification, license or registration requirement
  • Upon hire: National Certified Surgical First Assistant - National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting Or
  • Upon hire: National Certified Surgical Technologist - National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting
  • Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
  • 2 years experience as a First Assistant
