- Detail-oriented with a good grasp of surgical procedures
- Basic computer skills, including MS Word and Excel

**Job Description:**

- Assist healthcare team with providing safe and culturally aware patient care
- Anticipate surgical needs of the team and perform tasks efficiently in moderate to high acuity cases
- Review supplies and equipment needed for procedures and set up sterile tables
- Maintain a high standard of sterile technique during procedures
- Perform appropriate surgical counts and participate actively in procedure pauses/time-outs
- Assist surgeons and assistants with surgical procedures, including draping fields, passing instruments, and preparing dressings
- Prepare OR room, stock supplies, and ensure cleanliness in compliance with relevant standards
- Observe and report any patient condition changes to registered staff
- Uphold policies and procedures, supporting evidence-based practice and ethical accountability
- Support team spirit, recruitment, and retention of healthcare team members
- Mentor, train, and provide a positive learning environment for students and new hires
- Complete all mandatory education and competencies, plus maintain continuing education hours

**Additional Responsibilities:**

- Assisting in transporting patients
- Collecting and preparing instruments for sterilization
- Assisting inventory, ordering, and stocking of perioperative areas
- Ensuring unit compliance with regulatory standards and goals
- Perform other duties as assigned

This position requires flexibility and the willingness to cover shifts during major and minor holidays as needed.
