Job Summary of the PRN Radiology TechnologistProvides health care services, applying x-ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Performs radiographic procedures and related techniques, producing images for the interpretation by; or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Exercises professional judgment in performances of services and maintains a demeanor complementary to medical ethics. Provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure. Applies knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span to identify patient and family requirements relative to age-specific needs. Participates in providing patient specific care standards as directed, and follows service excellence standards to ensure high levels of patient satisfaction.Responsibilities of the PRN Radiology Technologist
  • Perform Quality Diagnostic Radiographic Procedures.
  • Practice Quality Patient Care/Radiation Safety.
  • Perform assigned QC/QA tasks as assigned.
  • Participate in call/holiday schedule.
  • Maintain competencies and current knowledge of procedures.
  • Complete all records and documentations.
  • Take responsibility for actions, follow instructions, respond to management direction, and respond to requests for service and assistance.
  • Perform other Department related duties as needed.
Qualifications of the PRN Radiology Technologist

EDUCATION:

  • Graduate of an educational program in radiology accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) or graduate of an American Medical Association approved program in Radiologic Technology or a military training program of equivalent standards.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Entry-level graduate Radiologic technologist will be accepted depending shift and technical responsibility of the shift
  • Preferred: Two years in an acute care setting as an X-ray Technologist

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Licensed by Texas Department of State Health Services as a Medical Radiologic Technologist
  • Registered in Radiology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - ARRT (R)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
