Pleasant Valley Middle School

Head Volleyball Coach

2024 - 2025 School Year

Season 1

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Organization and supervision of varsity, junior varsity, and freshmen teams.
* Management of the Volleyball budget, if applicable.
* Management of team equipment and supplies.
* Supervision of assistant coaches and athletes.
* Coordination of team awards and recognition.
* Demonstrate a positive role model to students.
* Support the academic and athletic goals and philosophy of Battle Ground Public Schools.
* Communicate effectively with students, staff, parents, and community.
* Maintain safe physical surroundings and teach safe techniques for students/athletes.
* Ability to work with students and adults.
* Needs to be a self starter that puts student safety first.
* Ability to perform work independently.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Meet WIAA coaching guidelines.
* Be able to work with students and as a responsible member of a coaching staff in full cooperation with the school

administrative team and district Athletic Director.

* Hold valid current first-aid card and CPR card prior to the sport season.
* Preferred - previous experience as high school varsity or college level volleyball coach.
* WIAA training will be required for sudden cardiac arrest and concussion training.

A serious behavior problem includes, but is not limited to: dishonesty; immorality; misuse of alcohol, a controlled substance, or a prescription drug; or furnishing alcohol or controlled substances to a minor or student.
* I have never been convicted/and or pleaded guilty of a crime against children. (If this is true, answer yes. If this is false, answer no.

Extra Curricular positions require a cover letter and documentation of current First Aid and CPR certification. If you are in the process of obtaining certification, please upload a document to that effect in place of the First Aid/CPR attachment or upload a statement of willingness to attend a district provided First Aid/CPR class.

Benefits

This position is not benefit or retirement eligible at time of hire. It could become eligible if position changes to meet the criteria.

This position is entitled to sick leave as prescribed by CBA or WA State Law.
