Verifies all insurance benefits; investigates and recommends long-term payment arrangements as required. Screens individuals for eligibility for internal and external assistance programs with the intent to secure a reimbursement mechanism for services rendered which will thereby reduce the self pay receivable.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

* High school diploma or general education degree
* Two to three years related medical office experience
* General understanding and application of basic accounting principles
* Experience in eligibility and benefit determination
* Excellent customer service skills
* Strong verbal and written skills
* Accurate data entry skills
* Current knowledge of payer requirements for referrals and pre-authorization
* Knowledge of GE/IDX or similar computerized billing system
* Medical terminology preferred
