Lead Health Information Management Analyst: Full-Time

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Lead Health Information Management Analyst will be primarily responsible for supporting all activities related to clinical EMR support for Esperanza. The position will manage key reporting timelines, coordinate submission of regulatory requirements and monitor ongoing performance of organizational performance of quality measures and initiatives. Working in collaboration with IT Staff, clinical staff, and other departments, this position will deliver data-driven guidance to support the organization's goal of providing executive leadership, clinical providers, and support staff with actionable intelligence reporting related to the performance of the quality measures established for our EMR. Candidates must have experience using data mining tools, statistical analysis, and reporting tools. Prior experience in an EMR/EHR Support role setting is strongly preferred.
  • Develops reporting and analytics to measure quality performance and support quality initiatives
  • Liaises among quality, population health, health services, and data/IT to define analysis scope and parameters, maximize effectiveness of data sources and quality, and determine financial impact/ROI;
  • Support specialized reporting for quality initiatives throughout the organization
  • Support reporting needs using Crystal Reports, I2I, and Business Intelligence. Work with IT Director, clinical staff, and Director of Operations to support Esperanza's data strategy
  • Work with software vendors to correct known issues, problem-solving within clinical applications (primarily Centricity EMR and the EZAccess patient portal).
  • Knowledge of statistical software (such as SPSS, SAS) preferred
  • Requires strong knowledge of relational database software (SQL/MS SQL Server, MySQL, SSRS)
  • Knowledge of visual reporting tools (Tableau, Mel Basics) preferred
  • Explain technical results, ideas and concerns to internal or external partners
  • Manage the needs of various stakeholders in the project. This would include supporting designing communication processes, project timelines and formal presentations.
  • Generate efficiencies around standard business processes
  • Desire to embrace and personify the mission of Esperanza Health Center

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 2+ years of experience with EMR/EHR maintenance and support preferred
  • Familiarity with technologies such as SSRS, SAS, SPSS, Tableau, Excel, Mel, is preferred. Requires SQL skills and good functional knowledge of relational databases
  • Analytical skills necessary for financial, legal, and administrative tasks
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate verbally and written effectively. Ability to communicate with the business for requirements and presentation of findings. Ability to be innovative and creative. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Attention to detail. Ability to learn new tools and concepts quickly. Team player who can effectively collaborate with colleagues both within the Quality team as well as the broader organization.
