* UT Health Tyler, the flagship hospital of the system, has 502 licensed beds specializing in advanced acute care medicine. Our hospital includes a 24-hour ER with Level 1 trauma center, a comprehensive stroke center, more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.

Responsibilities

* Provides assistance to patients with ADLs and through ongoing monitoring and response to patient needs.
* Organizes work in order to complete daily assignments within assigned timeframes.
* Competently performs defined skills in order to meet patient needs/expected outcomes.
* Maintains a clean, orderly and safe environment by following appropriate safety, infection control and patient care polices.
* Participates in tasks related to environment and equipment use, (including use, cleaning and storage) according to unit and hospital policy.
* Appropriately utilizes and charges for supplies used in patient care. Assists with cost effective care by ensuring appropriate use of supplies with minimal waste.
* Competently delivers therapeutic interventions to populations served under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

* High School or GED.
* Have a BLS certification within 30 days of hire or transfer into position.
* Maintain active certification with in the State of Texas

Preferred Job Requirements:

* 5 years' experience in acute or long-term care.
* Completion of approved CNA, PCT, or paramedic (EMT-P) certification which includes BLS, or currently enrolled in nursing school.
* Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy.
