Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) delivers high quality, patient-centered care by performing a variety of delegated patient care services in accordance with the PCT's skills/training and the needs of the Department within the Acute Care Setting. The PCT works under the clinical direction of the registered nurse (RN).

MINIMAL ACCEPTABLE JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Licensure:

* None required.

Experience:

* No specific experience is required; however experience in an acute care setting or currently enrolled in Nursing Program is preferred.
* Lutheran will provide a formalized training class; successful completion is required in order to continue employment.
* Additional orientation specific to unit responsibilities may also be provided.

Education:

* High school diploma or its equivalent (GED) preferred

Registration/Certification:

* BLS (Basic Life Support) within 30 days from start date in position. Successful completion of unit required education classes (ie: Intro to EKG, etc.) Must complete within the first 30 days of hire date, as applicable.
