The Job

As a Paralegal, you will be a critical member of the Legal Department at Own. You will play a central role in managing corporate compliance and legal operations, as well as assisting the commercial team, including contract review and populating nonstandard contract terms into our tracking tool. You will also facilitate other legal services such as supporting employment matters and litigation. A successful candidate will be a self-starter, detail-oriented, able to work independently with minimal supervision, and have a strong organizational mindset. This role will be reporting to Own's Senior Corporate Counsel.

Your Day-to-Day Role

* Review signed customer agreements and populate nonstandard terms into Salesforce-based tracking tool. 
* Help manage general corporate matters, including compliance filings, entity management, stock matters, and support for corporate transactions such as financings and M&A.
* Provide litigation and pre-litigation support, including managing litigation holds and preservation of data, working with attorneys on overall organization and management of claims and lawsuits, assisting with responses to discovery requests and providing responsive information and docs.
* Handle legal operations, including administering software and SaaS tools used by the Legal Department, helping to generate metrics and KPIs, and managing filing systems
* Partner with counsel in internal investigations. 
* Other paralegal duties as assigned.

Your Work Experience

* Bachelor's degree
* 4 year's experience as paralegal in law firm and/or in-house
* Paralegal certificate a plus 
* SasS experience a plus
* Prioritization skills and experience providing support in a fast-paced environment
* Ability to work effectively in a global environment and across numerous legal areas
* Highly organized with the ability to keep legal documents and processes well-organized and easily accessible
* Excellent judgment
* Strong project management skills

Important Details

This is a full-time position. The ideal candidate will work out of our Englewood Cliffs, NJ office a minimum of 3 days per week to maximize collaboration and interaction with the business. Travel may be required.
