Position Summary The Telemetry Technician monitors the central receiving station at all times. #The technician is responsible to identify the patient#s label and post rhythm strips on each shift. #The technician communicates any changes in baseline rhythm to the Registered Nurse and secures a copy for documentation. #The technician also provides clerical support for the patient care area under the guidance and direction of the nursing staff when assigned. This position will be crossed trained to function as a Nurse#s Aide as needed. Core Duties and Responsibilities # #Performs routine duties for electronic monitoring of patients # #Monitors central station monitors. # #Prioritizes and organizes work assignments and adjusts priorities based on changing situations. # #Initiates and discontinues telemetry on the central station monitors # #Notifies unit for faulty leads and battery function. # #Interprets the monitored rhythm # #Seeks consultation if unsure of rhythm interpretation # #Notifies nursing staff immediately of any significant or emergent rate/rhythm and documents strips and enters occurrence into log book # #Responds to all telemetry alarms by checking the monitor, securing the strip, and notifying the RN on unit of occurrence # #Edit history on each patient at the end of each shift and deletes all artifact # #Documents shift summary for all telemetry patients to be utilized for report to oncoming shift # #Reports equipment failures to Critical Care manager and Biomed # #Maintains proper telephone etiquette by identifying name, area and information in a clear and concise manner # #Recognizes changes in patient condition and responds appropriately # #Remains calm and objective during emergencies; functions calmly and efficiently in periods of high activity # #Will be scheduled as a Nurse Aide as needed Minimum Requirements # #High School Graduate/GED/or equivalent work experience # #BLS certification through the American Heart Association # #CNA preferred # #Dysrhythmia Course # #Intermediate computer skills, excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills # #Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods with the ability to lift, push and pull # #Must be customer focused and results oriented. # #Strong attention to details and considerable concentration skills Additional information # ###To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Position Summary

Core Duties and Responsibilities

* Performs routine duties for electronic monitoring of patients
* Monitors central station monitors.

Minimum Requirements

* High School Graduate/GED/or equivalent work experience
* BLS certification through the American Heart Association
* CNA preferred
* Dysrhythmia Course
* Intermediate computer skills, excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
* Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods with the ability to lift, push and pull
* Must be customer focused and results oriented.
* Strong attention to details and considerable concentration skills
