The Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center has a great opportunity for a Sr. Research Associate 1. The Senior Research Associate I position is part of the Behavioral and Community Based Research Shared Resource (BCSR). BCSR offers expertise and services to investigators engaged in cancer prevention, behavioral, epidemiologic, and cancer survivorship research. The Senior Research Associate I will provide research services on community and population-based studies and programs that aim to reduce cancer related health disparities in South Florida. The incumbent will implement day-to-day tasks related to research protocols and office support to facilitate the efficient operations of BCSR.
* Collects, analyzes, and presents research data.
* Monitors and maintains relevant research databases to ensure accurate data entries.
* Understands and interprets research protocols and procedures.
* Participates in the publication of significant results to include authorship of scientific monographs.
* Advances expertise through continued education, training, and research.
* Maintains current knowledge of relevant developments in the field.
* Ensures all research is undertaken according to good research practice.
* Warrants that department activities comply with applicable guidelines and regulations.
* Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Master's Degree in relevant field required.
* Knowledge and understanding of research methodology, cancer epidemiology, social determinants of health, health promotion and disease prevention strategies, mental health and group therapy, concepts of cultural competency, and basic statistics preferred.
* Excellent English skills, both oral and written required.
* Excellent Spanish skills, both oral and written required.
* Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data.
* Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
* Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
* Ability to accommodate a changing work schedule and travel to different locations in the Tri-County area.
* Ability to handle multiple studies simultaneously.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
