Description
Job Summary:
- To promote favorable company relationships with customers, providers, and groups through the prompt, accurate, and courteous resolution of telephone and written inquiries. To facilitate accurate and timely referrals, including proper payment sources.
Core Responsibilities:
- Serve all branches by processing referrals accurately and completely to include:
- Enter information into Barnestorm or Brightree in a timely manner.(have basic knowledge of this system)
- Obtain all required orders and documentation required by guidelines.
- Send additional documentation request out to be signed and returned by scan, fax, or phone calls if needed.
- Verify Insurance information and obtain authorization if required.
- Identify additional services or equipment that might would benefit the patient's needs.
- Contact patient/family to discuss SOC, services, equipment, etc.
- Notify the referral source to discuss SOC.
- Document all steps in the notes portion of any referral.
- Upload/scan in all documentation into Barnestorm or Brightree.
- Become the companies voice by answering all incoming calls to include:
- No later than the third ring
- Greeting all callers enthusiastically and with a smile.
- Mindset to help meet the needs of the caller.
- Professional attitude.
- Overall knowledge of your field.
- Do not blind transfer the caller, make sure someone is available to assist with the call.
- Thank the individual for calling.
Requirements
Skills and Knowledge:
- Customer Service, Quality Focus, Documentation Skills, Listening, Phone Skills, Analyzing Information, Multi-tasking, Computer Skills, Communicating Skills
Additional Information (optional):
- HME services and equipment knowledge.
- Knowledge of insurance guidelines for all services and equipment.
Education/Training:
- High School Diploma.
Work Experience:
- 1 year in a medical field of some sort.
Physical/Environmental Demands:
- Must be able to do excessive keyboarding throughout the day.
- Must be able to endure long hours of sitting throughout the day,
- Must be able to endure long hours of looking at a computer monitor throughout the day.
- Must be able to remain professional when talking on the phone throughout the day.
Salary Description
Starting pay $12.50 - $14.50/hr
