Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Project Accountant to support our Operations Team. The Project Accountant (PA) will work closely with Project Managers to manage the financial and administrative aspects of assigned projects. This position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate financial tracking, compliance, and risk management while contributing to the overall success of projects and the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

* Attend buy-out and internal cut-over meetings to understand project details, duration, billing, and reporting requirements.
* Review commitments issued through contract administration.
* Participate in PSP and internal team meetings to track team scorecards and action items.
* Assist in preparing and monitoring key tasks to ensure monthly deadlines are met for subcontractor applications, job cost accruals, owner application entries, and job cost projections.
* Manage critical documentation, including owner pay applications, RFIs, and change orders.
* Monitor accounts receivable and billing collections for assigned projects.
* Ensure compliance for subcontractors on assigned projects by verifying executed agreements, licensing, insurance documentation, billing accuracy, and certified payroll reporting.
* Track and obtain lien waivers, certified payrolls, risk mitigation plans, and other compliance documents as needed.
* Coordinate monthly vendor payments upon verification of compliance and owner payment.
* Assist with final filing and storage of project documents, such as warranty documents and O&M manuals.
* Obtain final subcontractor lien waivers and ensure no open payables remain.
* Coordinate with Project Managers on final cost projections and subcontract closures in accounting software.
* Provide support to accounting and project teams as needed.
* Cross-train in various processes and assist with other duties as assigned.

Key Qualifications:

* 3-5 years of accounts payable or project accounting experience.
* Associate degree or equivalent education beyond high school preferred.
* Proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, and accounting software.
* Strong written and oral communication skills to engage professionally across all organizational levels.
