Academics Plus Charter Schools, Inc. (APCSI) is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Paraprofessional at the Scott Charter School location for the 23-24 school year for the hours of 9:30 AM-6:00 PM.

The position of the Paraprofessional is to assist in providing a well-organized, smooth functioning classroom environment in which all children can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource material.

QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma with at least 60 college hours or Associate Degree or have passed the ParaPro Praxis Exam.

REPORTS TO: School Principal

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Demonstrate a relentless commitment to the academic achievement of all students.
* Maintain professional behavior, appearance, and work ethic to represent the school in a positive manner at all times.
* Articulate a positive image of the school and personnel.
* Assist the teacher in preparing instructional materials, classroom displays, and instructional activities.
* Work with individual students or small groups to conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher.
* Assist with the administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments.
* Assist in supervising students throughout the school day, both inside and outside the classroom, including cafeteria, bus duty, and playground.
* Keep the teacher informed of any special needs or problems of individual students.
* Assist in maintaining a neat and orderly classroom.
* Assist in inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
* Assist the teacher in keeping administrative records and preparing required reports.
* Communicate positively with students, parents, visitors and staff.
* Maintain a positive attitude and represent the school in a positive manner at all times.
* Effectively and positively communicate orally and in writing.
* Other duties as assigned by principals.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress.

Physical Demands: Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling and pushing; move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment.
