As an Assistant Supervisor, you will be responsible that the soft gel inspection area for all shifts are performing to target in critical areas (safety, quality, productivity) and to ensure that products are manufactured to Company, Customer, and Government standards for quality, safety, and productivity.

  • Assist Quality personnel when necessary with issues related to product quality, batch reconciliation or GMP issues.
  • Ensure products meet Company quality standards and specifications.
  • Ensure employees follow procedures as described in batch records and that batch records are completed properly and submitted to Quality in a timely manner.
  • Ensure pre-shift meetings are conducted.
  • Support initial training of all new Manufacturing employees.
  • Lead Department training of all operators with a focus on Safety, Quality and Productivity.
  • Deliver annual and revision SOP training within entire manufacturing department.
  • Support creation of procedures (SOP, Safety, Manufacturing improvement).
  • Communicates with prior/next shift team to ensure flow of information / work is uninterrupted.
  • In the absence of the Manager or Supervisor, coordinates the manufacturing daily work schedule to meet production requirements (Inspection, Polishing, Packing).
  • Involved in monitoring, coaching and developing manufacturing employees in technical skills, process improvements and daily work behaviors.
  • Provide input and feedback into employee performance evaluations and improvement plans.
  • Assists Management in ensuring that manufacturing operations are performed in compliance with batch records, SOP's and cGMP's.
  • Ensuring compliance with Company equipment and safety rules and regulations for entire department.
  • Supports and leads Continuous Improvement initiatives including best practices.
  • Follow established department SOP's, cGMP regulations, and batch record instructions.
  • Complies with all Company policies and procedures, including safety rules and regulations.
  • Maintains a safe work environment and operates in a safe manner.
  • Perform other related job duties related to the job, as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED Certificate
  • College degree in Science or Engineering field or equivalent from an accredited college (preferred)
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in a leadership position

Work Environment:
  • Must be able to work weekends due to rotating schedules and/or overtime due to production needs.
  • Regularly uses a telephone, e-mail for communication.
  • Required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time during the course of work shift.
  • Lifting limitations for this position: 30-50 lbs. May have to manipulate heavier containers.
  • Work environment may involve exposure to allergens such as Soy, Wheat, Fish, Shell Fish, Milk, Egg, Tree nuts, and Sesame.

This position is currently classified as on-site.

Base hourly range: $24.00-29.00 per hour, based on candidate experience level. Employees are eligible to participate in Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401(k), Holidays, Vacation, Tuition Reimbursement Program.

The final salary offered for this position may take into account a number of factors including, but not limited to, location, skills, education, and experience.
