Job Description:

Overall responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Develops and maintains professional relationships with internal & external staff/teams/contacts/customers.
  • Makes self readily available to discuss any clinic needs, issues, and concerns.
  • Supports and develops clinical staff to optimize their desire and ability to meet or exceed performance expectations. Mentors, coaches, counsels and or creates /implements developmental or performance improvement plans as appropriate.
  • Monitors treatment/provider/lab schedules daily for appropriate distribution and for add-on patient visits.
  • Assesses staffing needs, determines the adequate number of personnel needed to provide safe, high-quality patient care.
  • Oversees daily operations of assigned clinic(s) working in conjunction with Director of Operations to facilitate the creation and maintenance of a safe, therapeutic, productive, and efficient environment for patients, visitors, providers, and staff.
  • Regularly audits clinic workflows to assure processes are in place and functioning as expected to meet PCSRI standards, as well as those of all regulatory and or accrediting agencies.
  • Maintains competency in and performs clinical duties as necessary, which includes but is not limited to the essential job functions of clinical roles: RN, Medical Assistant, etc.
  • Evaluates the need for new or replacement equipment and supplies. Routinely inventories equipment & supplies to assure these are stocked at appropriate levels.
  • Reviews patient care charges/no charges daily to ensure that all charges are accurately captured.
  • Assures daily drug inventory and controlled substance inventory are properly completed and documented.
  • Monitors sample, emergency, and extravasation drug inventory / use and assures logs are accurately kept.
  • Reviews and makes modifications to stock drug par levels quarterly and or as needed/instructed.
  • Monitors the expiration dates of medications per policy in assigned clinic(s) and rotates stock as expected.
  • Reviews daily drug waste, assuring waste event reports are completed as neededSends waste reports and inventory reports to Pharmacy System Manager per policy.
  • Coordinates drug cabinet training for employees, new hires, and all staff - ongoing updates
  • Works with Pharmacy or designee to identify and resolve problems with drug dispensing system.
  • Attends Leadership meetings.
  • Conducts staff meetings. Uploads minutes of staff meeting to the appropriate share drive folder.
  • Meets with Managers and Supervisors on a weekly basis to discuss clinic issues and needs.
  • Routinely meets with Director of Operations to review clinic operations status/needs/issues. (minimum monthly, more often strongly recommended)
  • Generates and reviews daily clinical reports and distributes to or follows up with appropriate personnel to resolve any issues and deviations.
  • Delegates tasks and assignments to appropriate staff, follows up on delegated items to assure they are completed on time and as expected.
  • Participates in interviews, hiring, onboarding, discipline, termination processes for clinic(s).
  • Completes 90-day evaluations on new hires and annual staff performance evaluations by assigned due date on all clinical staff.
  • Assures all assigned individual & staff competencies and continuing/annual education modules are completed on time.
  • Participates in meetings, projects, and committees as needed/requested.
  • Conducts his/herself in a professional manner at all times.
  • Other duties as required.

Education/Experience
  • Registered Nurse license (active), Oncology experience preferred
  • BSN, preferred
  • Certification in Oncology, preferred

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Strong organizational and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of nursing principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of standards for cancer diagnosis/oncology practices/treatments.
  • Skill in sharing expertise about oncology allied health personnel
  • Skill in administering chemotherapy and other treatment therapies.
  • Ability to multi-task and cope wit a high demand workload
  • Ability to empathize with patients and families and to deal with challenging patient/visitor interactions.
  • Ability to collaborate with health care team to optimize patient and employee experience.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be willing and able to travel to satellite practices.
