Lab Technician

Description:
A typical day would include raw material testing, finished product testing, wet chemistry, and physical testing, as well as verifying samples from incoming trucks. Technicians will be expected to pull an average of 30-40 samples from the incoming trucks each day. 90% of time will be spent in the lab performing tests, with the other 10% of the role consisting of getting samples from the trucks, and cleaning equipment in the lab, and clean dishes and equipment whenever necessary.
When working inside of the laboratory, technicians will be responsible for the following:
+ pH testing
+ titrations
+ viscosity
+ density testing
+ boiling point
+ water content
+ purity testing
+ mixing
Following training, there will also be exposure to using ICP, GC, and FTIR.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
+ Bachelors of science degree in Chemistry, Biology, or Biochemistry
+ 6 months - 1 year of working inside of a laboratory setting from either school or industry
+ Ability to work on a team
+ Ability to work in a fast paced environment
