Title: Employer Coordinator, Construction Industry (Grand Funded)

POSITION SUMMARY

This position leads the Center for Workforce Development's partnership solutions and student placement in the construction industry. The coordinator will build working relationships with business and industry to develop pipelines for current and perspective students to directly connect with rich employment opportunities.

The coordinator will be the direct liaison for the college in meeting the workforce needs of business and industry in the field of construction while working in collaboration with the Dean of the School of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, the Executive Director for the Center for Workforce Development and Continuing Education and other college stakeholders. The purpose of this position is to build industry relationships, create workforce training specific to the needs of the industry and create pathways for current and perspective students to participate in Ready to Reconnect programming.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Build workforce solution partnerships with local and regional construction driven business and industry. Create workforce programs and courses that support the regional labor needs in our service region. Support and follow up on current and newly created programs. Lead outreach efforts to business and industry that result in student internships, co-ops, and work-based learning, retention and success and promotion of college initiatives.

Collaborate with the AWE Project Coordinator and other employment liaisons/coordinators to create seamless programming for all industry sectors. Oversee the daily administrative activity of required AWE grant requirements for construction related components. Promote opportunities for college faculty, staff and students to participate in business and industry externship activities to improve connections between campus and business and industry. Generate awareness and connection to the College and its construction programs and contracted training opportunities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in an applicable field

Three (3) years' experience in the construction industry

Working knowledge of construction business and market growth trends and industry engagement

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience connecting employers with training and employees

Demonstrated community engagement experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Intermediate to advanced knowledge of the construction field. Excellent communications and interpersonal skills. Ability to transfer soft skills and work ethic knowledge to others who are preparing for jobs in the construction industry.

Rate of Pay: $42,601 to $53,251 annually, depending on experience
