Job Description The Discovery Paraprofessional is an individual who can communicate clearly, both orally and in writing, possesses basic knowledge of technology and keyboarding to support student learning, demonstrates strong human relations skills, is highly motivated with strong organizational skills, and is a self-starter who is able to work independently.

Essential Job Functions

* Be an integral part of the Discovery [Gifted & Talented (GT)] Program
* Provide support to the K-2 GT teachers implementing the Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Music (STEAM) Program
* Collaborate with GT and classroom teachers
* Collect student data and share information with appropriate staff
* Support the preparation of instructional and lab materials
* Provide academic assistance to students
* Support supervision of and monitor students throughout the school day
* Provide a safe and nurturing environment
* Exhibit professionalism
* Maintain confidentiality
* Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or administration
