STAFF ACCOUNTANT

Hourly Position, M-F 8am-4:30pm, 9am-5pm

OT Rarely

In Office Position/Occasional in the Field

The Senior Staff Accountant works within the Accounting Department in conjunction with the Controller and owners to contribute to Connexts mission by processing financial information in an accurate and timely manner.

Job Duties:

Accurate and Timely Financial Reporting

Work with Accounting, Procurement, and other departments to ensure accurate coding of transactions.

* Track and reconcile inventories, customer payments, and fixed assets
* Provide financial support to department heads and supervisors with accounting issues and queries.
* Perform monthly and yearly account closing activities and reconciliations to verify records are current, accurate, and in accordance with GAAP and in compliance with internal policies.
* Create and post journal entries with supporting documentation.
* Track equipment leases and update supporting schedules as needed.

Maintain Proper Internal Controls

* Adhere to accounting policies and procedures.
* Follow procedures to be able to catch fraudulent activities.
* Reconcile and prepare proper backups for all assigned accounts for annual financial audit.
* Assist with year-end audits
* Other Duties as Assigned

Minimum Requirements:

* Bachelors Degree in Accounting
* Minimum three years work-related experience.
* Valid Drivers License with no more than 1 moving violation.
* Good interpersonal and communicative skills.
* Working knowledge of: GAAP Principles
* Proficient or highly proficient with QuickBooks Online
* Strong Excel and database skills.
* Word processing.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Strong organizational skills.
* Procedures required to reconcile general ledger accounts.

Ability to:

* Analyze and resolve accounting problems.
* Work under time pressures and constraints.
* Be professional in manner and appearance.
* Ability to interact with vendors and employees in a professional manner.

Education:

* Bachelors in accounting (other business degrees may be considered)

Salary: $23.00 - $30.00 per hour BOE

Physical setting:

* Office (some field work with inventory)

Schedule:

* 8-hour shift
* Monday to Friday

Education:

* Bachelors (Required)

Experience:

* Accounting: 3 years (Required)
* GAAP: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

* CPA (Preferred)
