Description

NEW base rate starting at $28.00/hr

12 hour shifts

$10,000 sign on bonus for both shifts

An LPN Provides specialized nursing care and treatments for critically fragile individuals with special medical and physical needs at St. Mary's Home. Our nursing team may be required to work a variety of shifts and fill the charge nurse role when scheduled. All services will be provided under a person-centered model of care and in support of each individual's support plan (ISP).

Daily physical assessments; medication administration; treatments prescribed by the physician, including tube feedings. Transcription of physician orders and use of electronic health records. Provide care to tracheostomy-dependent individuals (after completing the required training provided onsite). Assist in developing and updating the program plans of individuals when requested. Accompany individuals on appointments or field trips when requested. Direct/supervise the delivery of nursing care in the absence of the Chief Nursing Office or an RN. Act as Charge Nurse when assigned.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have:
  • graduated from an accredited school of nursing
  • current nursing license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • current CPR certification
  • Pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen

Essential Functions include:
  • Use muscles to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects up to 35 pounds independently
  • ability to see details of objects that are less than a few feet away
  • ability to speak clearly and hear speech of another person
  • ability to stand for long periods of time and walk for long periods of time
  • Use their hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Use fingers to grasp, move, or assemble very small objects
