The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at in the Same-day Surgery Center provides essential nursing care under the supervision of a Staff RN or LPN for surgery patients. The CNA supports these patients with the activities of daily living and ensures their basic care and comfort. Responsibilities include assisting in the development of patient care plans and delivering safe, competent nursing care in line with Gritman Medical Center's standards and guidelines from the Idaho State Board of Nursing, American Nurses' Association, and the Joint Commission. The CNA communicates effectively with the care team, adheres to the mission, vision, and values of Gritman Medical Center, and reports patient outcomes appropriately.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide basic nursing care and assist patients with daily activities.
* Support nursing staff in developing and implementing patient care plans.
* Ensure the delivery of safe, competent nursing care.
* Communicate effectively with caregivers and the patient care team.
* Report patient outcomes to the supervising nurse.
Job Requirements:
Education:
* Completion of an approved nursing assistant course.
Licenses and Certifications:
* Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in Idaho.
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

* Uphold a positive and professional representation of Gritman Medical Center.
* Promote a culture of safety for patients and employees.

Physical Demands:
* Considerable lifting, positioning, and transferring of patients.
* Prolonged standing and walking.
* Reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
* Good manual and finger dexterity, visual acuity, depth perception, and focusing ability.
* Essential hearing, speech, and sense of touch capabilities.
Environmental Conditions:
* Regular exposure to risks of bloodborne and other infectious diseases.
* Interaction with patients under varying circumstances, including emergencies and crisis situations.
* Potential exposure to hazardous fumes and unpredictable situations.
* Occasionally subjected to irregular hours or shifts.
