Secondary Behavior Technician Position report to High School building principal

The Secondary Behavior Technician is responsible for the implementation of school-based ABA educational services, Behavioral interventions, data collection, the regular communication between teachers and BCBA Consultant and the communication of schedule changes to supervisors in a timely manner. In addition, the Behavioral Technician will assess and train classroom aides and supervise the classroom program upon the teacher's absence.

General Responsibilities include:

The implementation of all teaching programs located in individual program books in 1:1 sessions, group sessions, as well as inclusion settings, as necessary. The maintenance of accurate and complete data collection on each student in 1:1 sessions, group sessions and inclusion settings. The use of positive stimulus-based procedures as developed by BCBA Consultant. The selection and acquisition of materials that is appropriate to achieve educational objectives. The responsibility of the daily needs of children assigned. The demonstration of sensitivity to the needs of the child, parent and classroom teachers. The ability to receive constructive feedback in a professional manner.

Demonstrates competence in the following procedures:

Discrete trial procedures Chaining - forward and backward Prompting and prompt fading Graduated guidance Incidental teaching Inter-trial intervals Matching to sample Shaping - both stimulus and response Functional communication training Picture exchange communication system - PECS Activity schedules Development of FBAs and BIPs Following BIPs and student goals and objectives with fidelity

Administrative Responsibilities include:

Submission of timesheets Data Collection Other responsibilities - Participate in staff training as assigned or per district policy.
