Radiology Support Assistant

Job Summary:

The Radiology Support Assistant will assist with the flow of imaging images and reports from all the modalities used for the care of each patient within the system.

Essential Functions:

* Assists the technologists with the daily workflow of imaging patients.
* Verifies patient identification using two patient identifiers.
* Transports patients from other units and departments to the radiology department.
* Escorts patients to and from the waiting room to the appropriate department.
* Prints reports, makes CD's, and electronically share images as requested.
* Receives, imports, and logs outside images into PACS and Epic.
* Utilizes e-sharing image solution to expedite image transfers.
* Maintains appropriate tracking mechanisms for incoming and outgoing imaging records.



Education:

* High School Degree or GED (required)
* Associate degree (preferred)

Licensure/Certification:

* Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association (required)

Experience:

* EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience (preferred)
* Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS) experience (preferred)
* Healthcare experience (preferred)

Skills & Abilities:

* Demonstrates problem solving, active listening, time management, organization and adaptability skills.
* Possesses ability to provide a strong customer service via email communication and phone etiquette in a high stress environment.
* Basic knowledge of Microsoft Suite and radiology imaging anatomy.
