Staff Coordinator

We provide medical masks and PPE to all employees to help protect our residents, staff and their families.
STAFFING DEVELOPMENT / CENTRAL SUPPLY
This position is responsible for recruiting competent employees, coordinating the schedules of nursing personnel in a manner that meets the minimum staffing needs of this facility, maintaining inservice requirements of staff members, and also for maintaining adequate resident care supplies in house.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* High School graduate or equivalent.
* Licensed Practical Nurse preferred.
* Minimum of 6 months of experience in a long term care setting preferred.
* Self-motivated, self-directed with leadership skills.
* Organizational skills.
* Ability to direct and motivate others.
* Knowledge of record keeping and budget maintenance.
* Knowledge of supplies and equipment used by department and the care of this equipment.
* Ability to sort, check, count and verify numbers.
* Ability to read, speak, write and understand English.
* Ability to tactfully deal with facility personnel, residents, family members, visitors, etc.
* Meet all health requirements imposed by law.
* Basic data entry skills and the ability to type.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Coordinates, maintains and posts schedules for nursing personnel.
* Maintains minimum staffing needed to meet the residents of the facility.
* Notifies nursing personnel of open shifts and works to fill open shifts.
* Assists with staffing needs as needed by working on the floor as SRNA.
* Requisitions supplies and equipment for use in nursing department.
* Maintains par levels of supplies and organization of central supply area.
* Maintains spend down sheets for nursing supply budget items and notifies DON immediately when near or over budget.
* Advises and consults with DON on equipment/supply needs.
* Prepares and submits reports, as directed by DON.
* Able to be on call.
* Able to attend department head meetings, workshops and institutes.
* Be able to keep adequate records.
* Able to cooperate with and motivate other nursing employees.
* Follow established safety and infection control procedures.
* Participates in all required inservice training.
* Maintains safe working conditions and follows dress code.
* Reports to supervisor all complaints and grievances made by residents, families and visiting individuals.
* Adheres to and promotes Code of Conduct.
* All other duties as assigned.
