Job Description:

Registered Nurse - Progressive Care Unit

$20,000 Sign-On Bonus for External Candidates

Full-Time 7p - 7a

The Registered Nurse has the responsibility and accountability for direct comprehensive nursing care for the patient from admission to discharge.

* Planning, assessing, intervening, and evaluating the care of patient with an outcome focused approach from the initial assessment of patient, routine on-going assessment, implemented interventions as indicated, until and through the discharge of the patient, involving the patient, family, provider, and other members of the care team.


* Reviews and documents care provided, outcomes of care, and evaluations of care.


* Follows the professional standards of care.


* Applies evidence, professional standards, and best practice to bedside caregiving through critical thinking, experiential evidence, and evidence-based practices.


* Demonstrates ability to prioritize care based on changing assessment and needs of patients.


* Having ongoing communication with physicians and other departments in the hospital.



Requirements:

* Associate of Science in Nursing (ADN) degree from an accredited institution.


* Current unrestricted licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Kentucky required.


* Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred upon hire and required within 6 months of hire.


* Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred upon hire and required within 90 days of hire.


* National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) preferred upon hire and required within 6 months of hire.


* Must obtain Crisis Prevention within 6 months of hire.



Preferred Qualifications:

* Recent experience in specialty preferred.


* Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited institution.
