The duties of this tenure-track position will include teaching Social Work courses across the BSW and anticipated MSW curriculum; service to the department and University, which will include student advisement and other service such as committee work; and conducting academic research. The Social Work Program is fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education and our department works to prepare competent and effective generalist social work professional practitioners, whose knowledge base includes the profession's history, purposes, and philosophy, and whose values include service, social justice, dignity and worth of each human being, self-determination, integrity, importance of human relationships, competence, human rights, and scientific inquiry. Currently, we offer our BSW program on campus as well as through a distance learning format, and are also in the process of developing an online MSW program. Therefore, the successful candidate will be responsible for teaching both on-campus and in a distance learning format. The School of Education, Health and Human Services prepares students for successful entry into their profession. We focus on an ethical approach to human well-being and encourage critical thinking and practical application.
