Certified Peer Support Specialist - ACT Team

As our full-time Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) on our ACT (Assertive Community Treatment) team, you will be responsible for providing individualized, strengths focused community-based interactions with assigned caseload for the purpose of promoting the development of wellness, self-management, personal recovery, natural supports, coping skills, and self-advocacy skills.

We empower our Peer Support Specialists to utilize their personal experiences with mental health and/or substance to connect, teach, model, and support the development of skills for ongoing treatment and recovery.

This is a community-based role that covers Wake County. We provide mileage reimbursement

Are you interested in employment but not yet certified? SouthLight offers a Peer Support Scholarship to qualified applicants to cover the cost of the Peer Support Certification course, which we will enroll you in upon hire

Pay

Starting pay is $19.00 per hour.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 830a-430p, flexible.

Full-time employees are eligible for medical benefits the first of the month 30 days after hire date. Options for a standard plan and an HSA plan with a $300 initial contribution and up to a $25 per paycheck match. 10 paid holidays and PTO hours which accrue at a rate of 10 hours per month. After 6 months employees are eligible to enroll in our 401(k) plan which has a 4% match. Company paid life insurance, short and long term disability, in house and paid training opportunities, and additional pay for working holidays. SouthLight provides mileage reimbursement. SouthLight is an approved employer for the Public Student Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program.

Job Responsibilities of an ACT Team Certified Peer Support Specialist

* Assist clients with self-determination and decision-making
* Model recovery values, attitudes, beliefs, and personal action to encourage wellness
* Teach and promote self-advocacy and wellness management
* Provide linkage to community resources
* Maintain and submit documentation (treatment plans, WRAP, service notes, service auth requests)

Job Requirements of an ACT Team Certified Peer Support Specialist

* HS diploma or GED
* Current Peer Support Certification preferred
* Valid driver's license with good driving record
* Minimum of 1 year working with the adult Mental Health/Substance Use population, preferably in a community setting
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Electronic Health Records
