Overview

The Cerebral Palsy Program social worker has the opportunity to work with patients and families in both outpatient and inpatient settings at the main hospital campus. As an integral part of the multidisciplinary team, the social worker will complete psychosocial assessments, provide supportive counseling, and work with families to address psychosocial needs. The social worker will have the opportunity to build relationships with families over time and to work with families impacted by both acute and chronic illness.

Provides developmentally appropriate, outcome-focused diagnostic and therapeutic service to patients and families in accordance with the scope of practice as defined in Chapter 4757 of the Ohio Revised Code, Section 4757.01 et seq. Practices professional social work and promotes advocacy in accordance with the NASW Code of Ethics for Social Work and maintains a current Ohio Social Work license.

Responsibilities

* Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary team and provides Clinical Medical Social Work services to patients and their families to improve or maintain social, emotional, functional and physical health (Continuously).
* Provides consultation, education, and training to staff regarding psychosocial issues that impact the delivery of optimal health care services (Frequently).
* Participates in the development and delivery of education, research and continuous quality improvement (Frequently).

Qualifications

Education: MSW required

Licensure: LSW required, LISW preferred
