Primary Care Internist Physician and Clinician Educator

Responsibilities:
- Have clinical hours as part of Jefferson Primary Care, as well as clinical sessions spent precepting in the Resident Continuity Care clinic.
- Provides primary care medical services and consultation to patients with multiple co-morbidities and behavioral health issues. Focus on providing quality care to patients while reducing overall healthcare costs delivering quality care with a customized patient experience.
- Supervises and provides teaching services for residents, medical students, and other trainees, as designated by the Clinic Director and the IM Program Director.
- Participate in resident teaching activities including didactics, journal club, clinical research and community outreach projects.
- Properly executes/prepares documentation that pertains to medical billing and patient coding.
- Works with office manager, RNs, social work, outreach coordinators to perform and document necessary clinical components to ensure care gaps are addressed and closed.
- Provides each resident with timely feedback and evaluation.
- Engages in evidence-based strategies to maintain and improve patient experience.
- Participates in care delivered through special program designed to meet community needs
Qualifications
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school or foreign equivalent
- Completion of an approved Internal Medicine residency program
- Must be Board Eligible/Certified in Internal Medicine
- Ability to obtain and unrestricted NJ medical license & DEA
- Interest and experience teaching residents
