Sign-on Bonuses up to $10,000.00
Under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse or Licensed Physician, the Licensed Practical Nurse assists in the delivery of care to patients within the Emergency department. The LPN performs a variety of tasks which include, but are not limited to clerical, communication and patient care.
Qualifications
Licensure/Certification/Registry:
* Current LPN license in the state of IL required.
* Healthcare Provider BLS certification required within 30 days of hire
Responsibilities
Provides care to patients under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse or Licensed Physician. Assist in the admission, preparation and examination of patients while maintaining patient privacy. Assists in executing physician orders as directed and inputting orders into the computer. Transport patients in an appropriate manner. Applies and maintains restraining devices as directed. Monitors suicidal patients in accordance with policies and procedures. Assists in assuring all equipment/supplies are present in adequate volumes and working order. Performs clerical functions utilizing appropriate communication skills. Maintains appropriate level of clerical supplies. Assures updated forms are stocked in the department while removing outdated forms. Performs order entry. Processes completed ED patient record accurately, timely and in an appropriate manner. Prepares medical record for distribution to medical records and department copies. Participates in collecting data for Quality Improvement activities, assists in identifying patient care problems for study and applies improvement findings to patient care. Performs other related work as required or requested.
