Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and organized Medical Secretary to join our healthcare team. As a Medical Secretary, you will play a vital role in providing administrative support to medical staff and ensuring smooth operations within the medical facility. Your responsibilities will include managing patient appointments, maintaining medical records, and performing clerical tasks. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments, surgeries, and medical tests
  • Greet patients upon arrival and ensure their information is accurately documented
  • Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and relay messages to appropriate medical staff
  • Maintain electronic medical records and update patient information as necessary
  • Prepare and distribute medical reports, including examinations, laboratory tests, and treatments
  • Handle billing and insurance paperwork, verify patient insurance coverage, and process payments
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, including patient confidentiality and data protection
  • Collaborate with medical staff, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care
  • Perform general administrative tasks, such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
  • Assist with ordering and maintaining office supplies and equipment

Job Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certification in healthcare administration is a plus
  • Proven experience as a Medical Secretary or similar administrative role in a healthcare setting
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, procedures, and documentation
  • Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and MS Office Suite
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping
  • Excellent multitasking and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, medical staff, and colleagues
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion
  • Knowledge of medical billing and insurance procedures is preferred
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and adapt to changing needs in a dynamic environment

Hourly Rate Ranges: $20.19 - $33.17

Note: Our salary offers will fall within these ranges based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to experience, skill set, training and education.
