Operations Supervisor- Los Angeles, CA

As an Operations Supervisor, a key member of the Wallenius Wilhelmsen operations team, you will support the General Manager in our high-productivity Vehicle Processing Center (VPC).

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU'LL DO

* Oversee operations at Wallenius Wilhelmsen's Vehicle Processing Center.
* Lead continuous process improvements to achieve a safe and cost -efficient work environment that meets performance targets.
* Responsible for promoting and helping develop a culture of a safe work environment for all employees and visitors through compliance with the WWS Health & Safety.
* Within your area of responsibility, investigate any accidents, incidents and/or near misses, to ensure actions are taken to prevent future incidents. Lessons learned are documented, shared and all reporting is completed timely and accurately.
* Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to develop strategic plans and procedures to increase the efficiency of current practices.
* Coordinate with leads to ensure organization of daily work for the crew.
* Foster an environment of positive employee relations and employee involvement.
* Perform corrective actions if needed.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.
* Willing to work long hours and weekends as required.
* Must be able to identify and anticipate operational needs as well as make recommendations for implementations.

Qualifications

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

* 3 or more years supervisory experience in manufacturing or logistics
* Ability to drive manual and automatic transmissions
* Solid understanding of revenue drivers and efficiency standards to deliver positive financial results
* Familiarity leading continuous process improvements
* Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel software applications
* Experience with SOP, MRP, TQM, JIT, Kaizen, and 5S

* 1-2 years' experience in an automotive or distribution environment

At Wallenius Wilhelmsen and across our businesses, salaries are determined by position, level, location, and similar factors. The pay or salary range listed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum projected rate of pay for the specific position across our United States locations. Equally as important, as a team member, individual earnings may consider knowledge, skills, abilities, work location and related factors. The current salary range for this position is 70-80K. Wallenius Wilhelmsen team members are also eligible for annual merit-based salary adjustments, and participation in competitive benefit programs. Some roles in the company may offer an additional annual bonus. Additional details on salary or pay ranges and benefits will be available through the interview and employment process. Salary or pay ranges are separate from bonus opportunities and/or benefit plans. At Wallenius Wilhelmsen benefits and perks listed here may vary depending on the nature of employment with Wallenius Wilhelmsen and the country work location. This role will have access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic and supplemental life insurance, and wellbeing benefits, among others. Full-Time U.S. based employees also receive scheduled paid holidays, floating holidays determined each year, as well as paid vacation and sick time.
