Faulkner University is seeking a qualified individual to serve as Head Women's Basketball Coach. This individual will be responsible for planning and directing activities and events, assessing players' skills and assigning team positions, as well as directing recruitment and retention of student athletes. Faulkner University is an NAIA Division I member, and is competing in the Southern States Athletic Conference. This position reports directly to the Athletic Director.

This is a full-time, 9-month position.

Summary of Duties:

* Plan, organize, and conduct practice sessions
* Evaluate assistant coaches in the performance of their duties
* Provide training direction, encouragement, and motivation to prepare athletes for games and competitive events
* Assist Athletic Director in the necessary preparations to hold scheduled sports events or practices
* Identify potential athletes; recruit and retain high quality athletes
* Work within the NAIA guidelines in the recruitment of student athletes
* Assist Registrar's Office in evaluating student athletes' eligibility
* Ensure program compliance with NAIA, SSAC, University, and Athletic Department rules, policies and procedures
* Participate in the budget function with the Athletic Director
* Obtain/schedule certified officials for home games
* Direct the forecast of additional funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies
* Possess a strong commitment to student development, be supportive of student diversity, and work to sustain and advance the University's institutional values

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree required
* Experience required; preferably at the collegiate level
* Ability to work frequent evening and weekend hours, as well as travel
* Active member of the church of Christ
