Graduation Coach - Tucson
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under direct supervision of a site Lead Teacher, the Graduation Coach will provide and coordinate ECAP activities, conduct individual meetings with students on a one-on-one basis, promote student culture, and assist in developing student success plans. The Graduation Coach is also responsible for Parent/Guardian and Community outreach and engagement activities and communications.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* ECAP activities: Quarterly ECAP workshops, College admissions processes, Career
* pathways exploration, College and Career Fairs, Job shadowing, Volunteer and Employability credit,
* dual enrollment, Leadership development, (student) Certification and licensing support, and Resume
* development.
* Individual Advocacy Meetings (IAMs): The Grad Coach will also meet with each enrolled student one on one a minimum of 7 times a year, following both Report Card and Progress Reports to discuss growth toward targets and goals and coordinate interventions with classroom teachers and develop individualized paths to success.
* School Culture: will coordinate and support site school culture activities to include open houses, clubs, school spirit
* Student Success Plans: will assist in developing site-specific Student Success Plans that seek to routinely recognize student achievement and include staff, students, and families in the process of celebration.
* Parent and Guardian engagement/involvement: will support and participate in regular communication with families to support attendance, positive recognition, academic progress updates, and activities.
* Parent Outreach: Conducts outreach activities designed to increase parental awareness and to assist students in seeing the importance and relevance of their education such as parent orientations, home visits, and coordination with the business community in arranging mentorships and apprenticeships.
* Community Involvement: will actively coordinate community relationships through the development of volunteer activities, job shadowing, and student participation in the interest of supporting student membership in their communities.
* Creates and maintains confidential program records and organizational systems. Tracks student risk factors associated with dropping out to include attendance and truancy data, discipline data, and academic achievement data, to include: Compiles data for tracking and evaluation purposes.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Associate's degree or equivalent post-secondary education.
* Two (2) years prior work experience in an educational environment.
* Must possess a valid IVP Fingerprint. Clearance card.
OR
* Any combination of academic education, professional training or work experience, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's Degree
* Three (3) years prior work experience as an instructional aide.
* Bilingual (English/Spanish)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
* Must be able to see a computer monitor.
* Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
* Must be able to lift twenty (20) pounds.
