Children's Home Shelter for Family Safety, a program of Children's Home Society, in Sioux Falls, SD is currently seeking a full-time Overnight Crisis Worker to provide program, case management and crisis intervention services as well as to clean and maintain the facility.
What You'll Do:
- Complete daily cleaning and laundry tasks for the facility.
- Complete maintenance chores according to the maintenance manual and checklists.
- Prepare and serve breakfast, as needed.
- Respond to crisis telephone calls, drop-in counseling sessions, shelter assessments, shelter intakes and departures.
- Respond to needs of shelter clients.
- Care for and supervise children in the absence of parent or caretaker.
- Assist in administration of medications to children in placement if Med Aide Certified.
- Transport clients as necessary.
- Complete necessary forms and documentations.

Schedule:
Week 1: Sun 10:00 PM-8:00 AM, Mon 10:00 PM-8:00 AM, Thu 12:00 AM-8:00 AM, Fri 10:00 PM-8:00 AM, Sat 10:00 PM-8:00 AM
Week 2: Sun 10:00 PM-8:00 AM, Mon 10:00 PM-8:00 AM, Wed 10:00 PM-8:00 AM
Compensation: $20.00/hr + up to $2/hr. shift differential (depending on applicable education & work experience)

Requirements
Experience/Education/Skills: Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Education or Human Services field preferred. Three years' experience in human service preferred. References that can depict level of interest in working with children in crisis situations. Knowledge of and ability to use personal computers and software utilized by the office. Valid South Dakota driver's license preferred. Must be 21 years of age.
Physical Demands and Work Environment: Environment focused on care of children in crisis situations. The employee is regularly required to bend and sit on the floor with children. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Some exposure to cleaning chemicals, requiring attentive and safe utilization.
